Reuters is reporting that 3 users are suing Facebook at the Federal Court in the Northern District of California for the story reported by Ars Technica on Sunday night Facebook used their Android users to get a treasure trove of personal and highly sensitive data thanks to Android’s open architecture that allows app developers like Facebook to experiment on their users.
This class action lawsuit is acting on behalf of all users and is asking for unspecified damages. Facebook denied that this was a practice.
Zuck, Sandberg, et al was M.I.A. when asked by Reuters for a comment. Perhaps they are being coached for the Congress hearing, which today’s reports said that co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg didn’t need to be subpoenaed, “invited” or whatever cutesy word of the day.
